Mrs. Weisel and Mrs. Jensen Curriculum Night: It was wonderful to see all of you here for Curriculum Night. Thank you for attending. We feel so fortunate to have such a fantastic group of students and their parents. Mrs. Weisel will send out reminders about Parent Conferences. Volunteers: We are still looking for a Parent Volunteer Coordinator. Until we have a Coordinator, we will have to put our classroom volunteer program on hold. If anyone is interested, contact Mrs. Weisel. Student of the Week: We’ve started up our special Student of the Week poster. Each child in our class will have a chance to shine as our Student of the Week. When your child brings home a student poster on a Monday, please work with your child to fill out the poster and have your child return it to school the following Monday. Your child will share their poster with the class and get to be line leader throughout the week. We appreciate you helping your child with this special project. Social Studies and Science: This past month we have focused on following classroom rules, friendship skills, and germs. We will continue to focus on the rules and friendship skills throughout the year. Our next social studies unit will spotlight October holidays and the upcoming Presidential Elections. In Science, Mrs. Jensen is studying "Germs." Homework: Remember that homework will be coming home on Tuesdays. Please sign off on the front page so I know you have reviewed your child’s work. Your child should also return any practice papers (i.e. writing their words in alphabetical order) to school along with their homework. Please try and help your child return the math homework to school ASAP. October Sharing: Week of October 13th: Bring in a picture of your family. Tell as about the people in your family and some of your favorite things that you do with your family. We’d like to keep the pictures to put up in our classroom so please don’t send pictures in frames or pictures that you don't mind get touched by little fingers. Thanks! Week of October 27th: Share a favorite book by filling out the attached story map. You may also bring in the book that you read for your sharing. Remember that it important for your child to use their best penmanship when completing all homework and sharing assignments. Sharing Schedule: Monday: Isaiah, Cameron, Makayla, Joseph Tuesday: Akhil, Sunny, Tyler, Gilli, Amanda Wednesday: Mitchell, Alyson S., Keya, Thursday: Ally S, Michael, Shayna, Friday: Audrey, Garrett, Sierra, Keya Supplies: If anyone would like to donate 1 or 2 disposable cameras (plus developing) we can start taking pictures for our memory books. We also need Clorox Wipes and large bottles of Hand Sanitizers. Thanks to everyone who has sent in "little treasures" for our Store. The kids are just thrilled. Math Program: Please go to Mrs. Weisel's math website to find Links to the Everyday Math Program. We are started Unit 2 this week. Halloween Party:
